‘Twas the night before the 22nd, and all throughout Surge,

About 20 people were stirring, as laughter emerged,

From out of their mouths, loud and obnoxious,

As Devon laughed so hard, he nearly became unconscious.

The awards were pronounced, and all were filled with glee,

As each was awarded their very first Surgie.

Last night we hosted our very first Surgie awards ceremony, and, needless to say, it was a rockin’ evening! We laughed, we cried, we gave awful acceptance speeches, all in good fun! Many nominations were written for each employee, (such honorable mentions were the “Best Mennonite Ninja Assassin” Award and the “What’s That Bunny Thing With the Horns Called?” Award), but only one nomination for each employee rose to the top! The winners of this years Surgie Awards are:

“Most Nonchalant Order-Sneaker” Award – Matt

“I Laughed So Hard I Pooped A Little Bit” Award – Devon

“Most Likely To Mess Up Right Before a Review” Award – Katie

“Biggest Risk to Worker’s Comp” Award – Bryan

“Most Likely to Scream When a Customer is Up Front” Award – Clark

“Queen of ‘Pop’” Award – Jennifer

“Best Adjectives” Award – Jered

“Most Likely to Break Out in Song” Award – Clay

“Most Likely to Count an Order Three Times” Award – Kristin

“Smiley-Pete” Award – Josh

Ain’t it purty?

Each employee gave a heartfelt, tear-jerking acceptance speech after each recognition. Actually…most just sat back down. But, they were smiling! And that’s what’s important!

So thank you all, for a great year! We look forward to bringing in 2010!
